Founded over 1700 years ago, San Marino is the oldest republic in Europe. The economy is based largely on the tourist industry and the production of Postage Stamps.
San Marino has a rich artistic heritage as can be seen monuments such as Palazzo del Governo, the Castle of the Ginuaita, the Museum of the Immigrant, the Church of St Francesco, the Basilica del Santo, the Modern Weapon Museum, the Curiosity Museum.
