An ancient fishing village, Cesenatico is known for its Porto Leonardesco, the harbor designed by Leonardo Da Vinci.
The historic center is in the Porto Canale where the Monument erected in honor of Giuseppe Gardibaldi, the Pretoria Tower, Piazza delle Conserve and its ancient ice works, and the Floating Fishing Museumcan be seen.
Other monuments include the Church of St Nicola, the Church of St Giacomo, the Antiquarium, Casa Moretti, the Town Theatre. The fish cuisine prepared in the towns numerous small restaurants is highly acclaimed.
