From the valley of the Savio river to the coast of the Adriatic sea lies the city of Cesena, the history of which is linked to the era of the Malatesta.
The city is a treasure trove of artistic monuments. Here the visitor can admire the Sanctuary of the Sacro Cuore di Gesù, the Cathedral of St Giovanni Battista, the Renzi Museum and Library, the Malatestiana Library, Palazzo Albornoz, the Alessandro Bonci Theatre.
In the surrounding countryside one finds the Nature Reserve of the River Savio, the Fornace Marzocchi Park. The most important event held at Cesena is the Fair of St Giovanni.
