The castle of Tabiano dates back to the 11th century when it was built on the site of an old Roman complex, as the stronghold of influential Pallavicino family, who commanded this strategic area during the centuries of struggles between the Imperial and the Vatican forces.
Today, the medieval borgo, or village, within the castle grounds has been transformed into a charming relais, complete with excellent restaurant and wellness facilities.
The Antico Borgo di Tabiano Castello has a total of 11 individually appointed suites, in which ancient architectural features and items of traditional furniture have been successfully combined with the very latest in modern amenities, including high-speed Internet access. Each and every room enjoys stunning views out over the countryside and the wide plains which coast the Po River.
The "Locanda del Colle" restaurant has established an excellent reputation for its traditional local dishes and its well stocked wine cellar.
